Hey yall!
I hope everyone had a great week! I have been living a vacation this past week. I have traveled to Montevideo three times, we watched general conference, and have enjoyed being tourists in Colonia!
Last Monday we decided to have a relaxing pday and go eat lunch in the touristy part of Colonia. While we were eating we decided to rent bikes. So much for our relaxing pday...we were all dead after riding bikes on the path by the beach for two hours. It was my first time on a bike in a year and a half and it felt so weird. It was best pday of the mish!
This weekend we continued our vacation with eight hours of tv....#General conference. It was a spiritually uplifting weekend and so good to hear the prophet and apostles speak. Plus, Hermana Folwer made her famous mac n cheese, we had a cake, cookies, and iceceam. It was a fiesta.
This week was way different than any other week on my mission. I only had one full day in my area working, but I'm excited to get back to work for 6 more weeks.
Other highlights from the week:
-We have a friend named Daniel that we found through English
class. His aunt is in our branch. He came to the church this week for a couple
of lessons and we had a noche de hogar in his aunt's house. He also came to the
church to watch general conference on Sunday. He loves sending us audios in
english and it's pretty funny. Please pray he can continue to progress.
-We had zone conference in Montevideo and I got to see my
old comp hermana Wilson.
- Our friend Walter came to the church for a tour this week.
We have run into him so many times in the town and he knows it's a sign from
God. He works on Sundays but said he's going to try to switch his
schedule.
- We have all gotten sick so over the past two
weeks...living in a house of four has its downsides. It has been so fun to live
with Hermana Fowler and Hermana Norris. We have all become best friends and are
constantly laughing. Its the best! Sadly transfers are this week, we know we
are having too much fun so we will see what happens...
- I had intercambios with one of my old comps hermana
Barlow! It was so weird to be with her again and see how much she has grown! We
also got to teach English class together again...all the mems came back.
- The other day when we were finding we saw a poster of
Justin Biber with a dead rat on top. We knocked the door and started teaching
the restoration. Let's just say it was pretty sketchy and we never finished our
lesson....
I was reading a BYU devotional this week by Sister Heaston and I loved this quote, "Be someone who reaches out to serve others - throw away the mirrors and look through the window." It was a good reminder to stop worrying about myself and look for an opportunity to help someone else. Whenever I am sad on the mission I realize I'm only focusing on myself, when we reach out to help others that is when we find true joy.
Have a great week!
Hermana Neuberger
