Melanie!!!

Hola!

This week we had zone conference on Tuesday! I got to see my MTC companion, Hermana Allred, so that was fun!

Saturday was the baptism of our friend Melanie!!! It was such a special day to see her take this first step to follow Jesus. She was so happy and told us it was the happiest day of her life! It has been so cool to see her accept the gospel and make changes to her life. Melanie invited two friends to her baptism! Also, we had a mini testimony meeting during the baptism and Melanie's mom bore her testimony. Her mom is a member and was so happy to see her daughter make this decision at 22 years old. Also, one of our other friends, Jorge, came to the baptism. He bore his testimony and said that ever since he started coming to church he has been able to find more happiness in his life. The spirit was so strong during the baptism and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of it.

This week God has made me aware of how lucky I am to have the gospel in my life. I know that only through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ we can find PURE joy! I am so grateful for the opportunity to share this joy with people everyday!

Have a great week!

Morgan Wallen and Auburn

 Hey yall!

I don't have much time to write, so here are some pics and highlights!

- Our friend Melanie passed her baptismal interview and is getting baptized Saturday! It was a miracle because she had problems with the word of wisdom and the law of chasity. My companion and I fasted that everything would work out and she was able to resolve her problems. This was a testimony builder of the power of fasting and prayer!

- Our friend Jorge came to church with his 3 kids, brother, and his brother's 3 kids. We have been teaching him for a while and he's come come church a few times, but he told us he wanted to be baptized this week. We were able set a date for him to be baptized! This is amazing because our first lesson with him he wouldn't even close his eyes in the prayer. Now, he is praying in the lessons, reading the scriptures, and coming to church. It is one of the biggest changes I've seen on my mission.

- Melanie asked us what kind of music we liked this week, so I told her I only listen to country. Later in the week she told us she had been listening to country music and likes Morgan...aka Morgan Wallen! Me and my comp were dying hahaha!

- Hermana Payne made guacamole!

- It got super cold for 2 days this week, but it's going to be in the 90s again.

- There is a street named Auburn here.....

I have been learning so much this transfer! I have learned when we do our best, God will make up the rest. I love the scripture in Alma 37: 6 "that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass." If we put forth effort and do the small things God will bless us with miracles. I have seen this so much this week!

Have a great week!

Clase de Íngles

Hey yall!

This week was full of miracles. Here are the highlights:

- We started teaching our new best friend. Her name is Melanie and she is 22 years old. She has progressed so much in one week and now has a date to be baptized. She has read so much of the Book of Mormon, prayed, and received an answer that this is the true church. She is the best! When we leave her with something to read, she takes notes, marks the parts she likes, and sends us messages about it. Plus she taught us how to prepare mate and gave us the best dule de leche!

Our friend Melanie
- We started english class this week! It was so fun! We had about 15 people there, so we had two classes a beginner and advanced. We tried to only talk in English and it was the funniest thing.

English class
- We had a lesson about temples with a part member family we are teaching. The mom is a member, but the dad is not. We invited them to start working on getting married, but after the lesson we didn't feel like they were very motivated to work on it. However, we saw them in the streets a couple days later and they told us they have a date to go to the marriage office! We are excited because this means the dad can get baptized sooner!

I love the quote "Your future is as bright as your faith." When we have faith, we can see miracles everyday regardless of our circumstances! God is a God of miracles! I am grateful for the miracles we saw this week.

Have a great week!

ALBA!!!

 Hey yall!

I don't have too much time to write, but the days are flying by! This week our days were crazy, so we came home exhausted every night. It's the best though! Here is a miracle from this week:

On Wednesday we went to a lunch appointment, but got to the house a few minutes early so we decided to knock doors for like 10 minutes. While we were knocking we met an old lady named Alba. She was so nice and let us in her house. She shared some of her problems and we were able to share a message of comfort with her. It was so crazy that we knocked on her door because earlier in the morning we got a text from a member saying she had a friend that she wanted us to visit. However, she wanted to ask her for permission before we visited her. Her friend was Alba! We met with Alba again on Friday and she comitted to come to church. She said she would walk and we were suprised because she can barley walk. We told her we would come to her house and walk with her, but she didn't want help. We talked to her friend who is a member and she offered to drive Alba. On Sunday she showed up to church with her member friend. It was a miracle! I know it was God's plan for us to get to lunch early and knock doors for a little so we could meet Alba!

Caught in the rain
Also, this week I have learned how bad I am at using the bus system. Today we had a zone training in the morning in Cerro. We got lost and it took us 2 hours to get to the right church. Every bus we got on, we asked for help. On one bus everyone was trying to help and the whole bus was yelling "Are you looking for the iglesia Mormona?" We were laughing so hard. It was an adventure BUT we made it for the last 30 minutes of the training.

This week I have been learning about the Lord's timing. Sometimes it's hard to have patience in His timing, but He knows what He is doing. If we keep on going with faith, everything will work according to His will!

Have a great week!
