Preblessed

Hola!

Here are some random things and some miracles from this week:

- Hermana Armijo is a vegetarian and Hermana Norris is allergic to gluten. Living with a vegetarian + a gluten allergy = no member lunches and lots of rice. So, we have started a tradition of going out to eat every Friday in Ciudad Vieja (the touristy area). This week we may have gotten ripped off at the restaurant and all left with stomach aches...

- On the mission I always joke with my comps that the food is preblessed and we don't need to bless it. This week my wish came true. We went to an inactive members house named Olinka to eat dinner and we go to say a blessing over the food and she says, "No, no it's fine. I always have a prayer in my heart while I'm cooking, it's already been blessed." It made me laugh so hard, but she was being serious. Did we pray again? No...#preblessed. Anyways you should go check out the preblessed food video on youtube it's the best.

- We had a movie night with my DVD player and watched the district...the best thing ever.

- My comp had the idea to work in a red zone in our area. That basically just means it's a little dangerous...at least that's what we think. We didn't know if it was okay, but we have been pretty desperate to find people so we prayed really hard, left our bags at home, took only a book of mormon, and went to knock doors. It is one of the humblest areas I have seen on my mission. We found a lot of inactive members and met some people who seem interested! We will see if they progress!

- This week after a long day of knocking doors we were on the way to the church, when we walked past a couple with their two kids and started talking to them. They told us they were looking for the church. We were right in front of the church and asked if we could give them a tour. They were super nice, the dad is a member and the mom was taking the lessons before, but they recently moved to Colonia. They showed up at church on Sunday and brought their friend with her two kids! It was a miracle! It was evidence that God has his way of helping us in this great work! I know God had us walk on that street at that time so we could talk to them.

- Hermana Fowler moved our couch out on our balcony on Saturday. We sun tanned while we studied....best language study on the mission.

- We went on another run to the beach. Our area is so pretty, sometimes I feel like I'm on vacation....but only for a second. The wind here is also insane.

- I learned how to make dulce de leche crepes!

- I learned mate is the key to living until your 90. We visited an older couple and they were in their 90s but living their best lives and drinking mate.

- Today is Chile's independence day. Hermana Armijo has been talking about it all month and is missing home a little, so we decided to go all. This morning we set the alarm to the Chile national anthem. We also made a flag and put up signs all over our house. Hermana Armijo may have been in tears.

- Hermana Fowler made her famous rolls and homemade brownies!

- I came to the conclusion that there is no reason for avocado toast when you can have dulce de leche toast.

- I have realized this is all about food, but hey sometimes it what's brings joy.

This week I have been learning about faith. I love this scripture in Ether 12:6 "And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." Sometimes we need a trial of faith to show God that we really do trust him. In the mission I have learned that if we do our best and have faith, God really does do the rest. Never loose faith in God, He is so good!

T25

Hey yall!

I hope everyone had a great week! Not too much is happening here in Colonia. The work here is a lot different. Instead of finding at parks, we have just been knocking a lot of doors. I come home every night the most exhausted I ever have on my mission. Here are some highlights from my week:

- My friend Beatriz got baptized on Saturday! Sadly I wasn't able to go back to Montevideo, but I was able to watch it through a video call. She is so amazing. She completely changed her life to be able to take this step and I know she feels so good after her baptism. Her story has helped me grow and I know God put her in my life for a reason. I feel like she was a reason I was called to serve here in Uruguay.

- It rained one day this week and my comp and I were out knocking doors. We were by the beach and there were some really nice houses. One of the houses looked like a southern house in the US. We took pictures of it and as we were walking away I told my comp we should knock it for fun. We knocked twice but nobody answered, as we were leaving an 80 year old lady opened the door, we turned back and then she said the best words, "pasen." I had a big smile and was trying not to laugh as we walked into the house. It was one of the nicest houses I have seen in Uruguay and I couldn't believe we were going inside jajaja! The lady is Catholic, but we taught her the restoration, she said she needs to start going back to her church. We are going to try to help her come back to the church of Jesus Christ....we will see what happens, but it was a fun experience.

- Living with 4 hermanas is the best! We have been exercising together in the mornings. We either use by boy Shaun T (T25) or go for a run to the beach. Also, I get to live with hermana Norris from Alabama during football season....blessed! Even though we might drive our comps crazy sometimes.

- One thing I have learned since I have been in Colonia is Uruguayans live so long. We visited a 96 year old lady this week in our branch. She was so cute and when she prayed she said it was the happiest day of her life. Also, most of the people who live in our apartment complex are 90+. It's so wild!

This week has been kind of discouraging. We aren't really teaching anyone and sometimes the days are long from just knocking doors. I'm trying to remember, "the Lord loves effort." All we have to do is give our best to Christ and He will multiple our efforts. I read a talk this morning called "Divine Discontent" and it says, "What you have to offer is more than enough—even with your human frailties and weaknesses—if you rely on the grace of God." God makes up the difference and He has a plan for us!

Have a great week,

Hermana Neuberger
