I love Mexico!

 Hey yall!

I have been in Mexico for almost 2 weeks now and I love it! It's so pretty here. The campus is AMAZING! These past few weeks have been some of the best weeks of my life. I'll highlight some of my favorites things:

There are palm trees everywhere and the weather is so perfect here! We have classes twice a day and we get to have class outside sometimes.

We are in the middle of Mexico city so we are constantly hearing loud cars, dogs barking, a woman yelling into a megaphone trying to sell tamales, a man singing, and gunshots. We sleep with our window open so we hear it all night. (We asked our teacher about the gunshots and he said they are Mexican fireworks. He said they shoot them off at all hours to prevent it from raining. We are still trying to figure out how that works or if he is messing with us haha!)

My companion, district, and roommates are the best! Hermana Allred is my companion and she teaches me so much, plus her Spanish is so good. We have so much fun in our classes, during gym time, and while studying! I'm laughing all the time.

I love the Latinos! Our teachers gave us the challenge to talk to five Latinos a day. It's not always easy to keep a conversation going with them because they don't speak any English and my Spanish is not the best, but I can see God's love shining from them. Our church is also completely in Spanish so that can be challenging.

The spirit is so strong here. I have been able to learn so much about the gospel in such a short time. Also at one of the devotionals the choir sang the EFY medley. The whole CCM was in the choir so it was powerful. I could feel that this is where I'm supposed to be right now helping to bring the world His truth.

We got to go to the Mexico City temple and visitors center. It is the biggest temple outside of the US and has an amazing story.

On Tuesday we had a devotional. Something I loved is that faith is not by chance but by choice. Faith is a voluntary action we have to work for everyday. I'm trying to exercise my faith in learning Spanish. Although sometimes it's hard to trust that I will learn enough to teach the gospel, I know that when we have confidence in the Lord miracles will happen. I have seen so many miracles in the short time I have been here. God is SO good! Have a great week!

Love yall!!
