Hey yall!
Happy Easter! Holy Week brought so many miracles. Here's a
recap from our week:
- A member in our ward gave us a phone book last week and so
one night we decided to randomly call numbers in the phone book. It was fun
because everyone was answering and they were so confused how we had their
number and name. Hahaha! We called one number and talked to a couple named
Miguel and Maria. We sceduled a day to have a lesson with them. This week we
went to their house for the lesson and met them. They are 86 and 85 years old
and love to tell us their age every chance they get! We were able to meet with
them a couple of times this week. They have a car (it's really scary to think
about them driving) but they drove to church on Sunday and loved it!!!
- One morning we were knocking doors near the church and
found a young couple, Michael and Micaela! They are so cool! We were able to
give them a tour of the church, they came to english class, and to church on
Sunday! They are my favs!
- Our friend Luz accepted a date to be baptized! It has been
so cool to see her open up to us and accept the gospel. She is so happy!
- My companion and I planned an Easter activity for the
ward. We played Bingo, had an easter egg hunt and scavenger hunt. We made an
invitation and advertised for an easter egg hunt. Then, we realized easter egg
hunts aren't a thing in Uruguay and you can't buy plastic eggs....we didnt want
to have false advertising so we bought chocolate eggs and hid them in the
church. The hunt was supposed to be for the kids, but by the end the youth and
adults were all looking for eggs. It got a little intense, to say the least.
- One of our members made us an asado for easter! It was so
good!
- We got to hold bunnies that a member had on Easter and I
named one Dixie Lee! Shoutout!!!
- And we also had zone conference this week!
I had to give a talk on sunday about Jesus, the best topic!
I love this part of the "Living Christ", "He was arrested and
condemned on spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die
on Calvary’s cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His
was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who would ever live upon the
earth." Christ lives, He is our Savior, He gave his life for us and He
loves us!!
Have a great week,
